On our last week in the island, we stayed in Ubud at Desa Visesa , which is a huge resort 5 min from the city center. It is design as a small village surrounded by beautiful rice fields, a little farm where you can visit the animals and paths to walk around without leaving your hotel or organize an afternoon tea looking to the fields. They even have their own air balloon!
When we arrived they organized us a small balinese ceremony, before taking us to our pool villa right next to the rice fields and it was amazing. Once you are in your villa you are welcomed with a glass of prosecco, a fruit and pastries table.

As you enter into your villa through a little path above the water, you will find the living room next to the pool. Each room has a double bed with AC, mosquito net, TV, rain shower and a bathtub perfect for a flower bath.
On our first day we decided to have lunch at Lumbung Restaurant in Desa Visesa as they told us they had a whole vegan menu and were excited to try it! If you go for lunch, make sure to order the coconut soup (It is served inside a coconut!) and the jackfruit curry, everything was very tasty. If you sit outside you can enjoy the views to their waterfall and palms, listening to the birds as you eat.
The hotel also organizes daily activities such us Permaculture which is the development of agricultural ecosystems that aims for sustainable self-sufficiency. Daily routines, such as feeding and freeing the ducks as they are a natural resource to clean the rice fields from insects and they are kept free and come back to sleep every day. They also offer dancing classes, daily yoga and cooking lessons. They offer free shuttles to the center every hour.
They have different room types, from suites, to 1-2 bedroom private pool villas, and the sky villa, which is the most luxurious room in their hotel, it is located on the top floor and has a huge infinity pool looking to the fields. There's an open gym and a spa where you can have your massage in a regular bamboo cottage or inside a natural cave. Sounds great, huh?
Even if you are not staying with them, you can come for lunch at one of their restaurants and spend some time walking around their property. Visit their organic gardens, rice fields and play some chest while you watch the air-balloon take off.
